HOOF!
★★★★★
"In two short acts, the company create two brand new plays, which will never be repeated. The audience are coerced into truanting their normally sane lives, and are whisked away into a shared imagination of utter madness. At all times engaged, Immersed and included in the action. A stunning cast – Glenn Noble, John Garfield-Roberts, Ann Farah, Keddy Sutton, Mark Smith, Joff Chafer, And Elinor Randle, captivate our undivided attention, with ease and flair. And seem to have as much fun as we do!...This ensemble radiates a true sense of family- the more experienced actors in this artform bringing along and inspiring the younger members. Their delight in each others’ triumphs was so evident. John Garfied-Roberts, one of the younger performers on stage looked every bit at home as the founding cast members. He brought in some wonderful pivot points to the performance, his Masonic father was a real hit with the audience, and was revisited by the cast, surely a stamp of approval from all...I challenge you to find a more engaging and enjoyable few hours"

"There are six actors and two musicians who have no idea what is going to happen; they have no lines, there is no story, they have no characters to develop and get their teeth stuck into, yet they manage to develop little scenes here and there where characters are introduced and some kind of story evolves...This is a ninety-minute rib tickling show of pure comic madness, and it is easy to see why Spike leads the way in improvised comedy. "Unlike the quick wit and verbal sparring to be found in other types of improvised comedy, Hoof’s work is very much grounded in clowning and physical theatre...it’s testament to the performers that all seemed keen to swerve the cheap or obvious laughs that can bring and focus on fleshing out surreal short plays...Each member of the highly likeable ensemble brought their own strengths to the table...Garfield-Roberts’s friendly camp style was a lovely addition...A cobra with a penchant for gossip columns, the perils of a knitted adventure playground and the woes of a bell end (erm… literally) were among some of the scenarios that came out of tonight’s show, and tomorrow they will start all over again to create something completely different. It’s clever, it’s artistic and it’s wonderful fun – and hopefully this won’t be the last the world sees of Hoof!."
